Seminar: automated model discovery – a new paradigm in biomedical simulations with Ellen Kuhl

Collaborators

Join us for a joint HAI and Wu Tsai Performance Seminar with Ellen Kuhl titled “Automated Model Discovery – A New Paradigm in Biomedical Simulations” on November 29, 2023.

In this seminar, Kuhl will discuss the challenges in constitutive modeling and parameter identification for biomedical simulations and propose a new method that formulates the problem as a neural network to discover the best model, parameters, and experiment to explain various biological systems.

The seminar includes an in-person breakfast at 9:15am in the Gates Computer Science Building, room 119, and runs from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with an option to attend via Zoom.

Ellen Kuhl is the Walter B. Reinhold Professor in the School of Engineering, Robert Bosch Chair of Mechanical Engineering, Professor of Mechanical Engineering and, by courtesy, of Bioengineering
