In memory of Dr. Charles Chan

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Charles Chan, who left an indelible mark on the fields of regenerative medicine and rehabilitation during his time as Assistant Professor at Stanford University and as co-lead of the Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance’s Regenerative Rehabilitation moonshot efforts at Stanford.

Dr. Chan’s dedication to scientific exploration led to significant  contributions to the Alliance’s goals and the field of regenerative medicine. His research into bone formation and skeletal stem cells led to discoveries such as estrogen being key to promoting bone healing in female mice and that skeletal stem cells could be activated to generate cartilage. He was also incredibly supportive of the Alliance beyond his scientific contributions, generously dedicating his time to promoting our mission.

Dr. Chan will be sincerely missed. Our thoughts are with Dr. Chan’s family.
