Announcing the Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance at Stanford University

Collaborators

Imagine having the technology to use a digital twin of an athlete to help her avoid injury—or discovering new treatments that can heal muscles rapidly and restore function. Imagine that these same innovations can be used to help all people thrive, no matter their level of athletic capability or stage of life. This is the vision behind the newly launched Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance.

The Alliance is a scientific collaboration engaging six institutions around the country dedicated to uncovering the biological principles of peak performance and catalyzing innovations in human health. Made possible by a foundational gift from longtime Stanford benefactors Clara Wu Tsai, ’88, MA ’88, and Joe Tsai, the Alliance will bring together expertise from virtually every field that touches on human performance.

The Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance at Stanford is directed by Scott Delp, James H. Clark Professor and a bioengineer at Stanford. Delp envisions the effort at Stanford engaging individuals and research teams campus-wide. It will provide seed funding opportunities, training programs, and other resources to create a dynamic, interdisciplinary community at Stanford to transform our understanding of human performance and human health.
