Clara Wu Tsai
Clara Wu Tsai is a businesswoman, investor, and philanthropist who owns the WNBA’s 2024 Champions, the New York Liberty, and the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets. As Founder of the Joe and Clara Tsai Foundation, Ms. Wu Tsai pursues philanthropic investments across the arts, science and social justice spaces, including the Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance, which works across six universities to bring together world-class talent to advance the science of human performance. She serves on boards including at Stanford University and Lincoln Center, and previously held leadership roles at Taobao and American Express, holding degrees from Stanford and Harvard.
Tara VanDerveer
Tara VanDerveer is the second-winningest coach in NCAA basketball history, and one of the top coaches in the sport, both collegiately and internationally. An ambassador for both Stanford University and the sport of college basketball, VanDerveer enjoyed an unprecedented level of success through an energetic and positive approach to the game, accounting for 85% of Stanford’s total victories in her 38 seasons at the Farm, the majority of her 45-year career as a collegiate head coach. Perhaps one of VanDerveer’s most notable attributes was her ability to connect with student-athletes; she was not only one of the nation’s premier recruiters, but also had numerous players go on to successful professional careers.
Mary Leonard, MD
Mary Leonard is a compassionate clinician, distinguished researcher, and respected mentor who cares deeply about improving the health and well-being of children everywhere. Her NIH-funded research program is focused on the impact of childhood chronic diseases on bone metabolism, nutrition, and physical function across the life span. In her roles as Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and Director of the innovative trans-disciplinary Maternal and Child Health Research Institute, she is at the forefront of efforts to integrate precision health into research and training programs at Stanford.
Carolyn Bertozzi, PhD
Carolyn Bertozzi is the Baker Family Director of Sarafan ChEM-H and Anne T. and Robert M. Bass Professor at Stanford University, as well as a Nobel Laureate and Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. She is a leading chemist recognized for her groundbreaking research on cell surface glycosylation and its connections to disease.
